Tom Nelson currently serves as Executive Advisor to Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated, focusing on strategic opportunities and acquisitions. Prior to announcing his retirement in summer 2022, Tom served as Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Throughout his nearly 20-year tenure with the company, Tom has overseen tremendous business and financial growth of the Holiday Inn Club Vacations® brand. This includes establishing a strategic alliance with IHG®, a global leader in hospitality, and driving the company’s growth from one to 28 resorts across the U.S. Tom joined the Company in 2003 as its Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in 2013.
Prior to joining Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Tom led Global Strategy Consulting for Arthur Andersen. He also previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Edify Corporation, a global developer of contact center technology, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SRI International’s European venture subsidiary, a science and technology research institute.
Tom is a Certified Public Accountant, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the School of Business at California State University, Hayward, and is a graduate of the Executive Program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
